We use high quality materials in all of our workshops and aim to keep the prices as affordable as possible. All workshops are taught by our founder and local Artist Ula Fung, if you haven't been to our events before, there are a total of two of us in the business, You're likely to meet Ula's husband Ryan who can help with any general questions about the events; Finally our workshops are filled with fun but we haven't forgotten the learning. You will always learn something from your experiences with us and if you want to learn more, just ask more questions! |
JAPANESE PAINTING WORKSHOP Paint with traditional / Contemporary Japanese painting techniques. Learn from an experienced local artist, who'll teach you how to paint using traditional materials like bamboo brushes, sumi ink, Japanese paints, gold leaf. We paint onto rice paper, stretched silk on a bamboo Frame or onto fans. We will bring along a selection of references from the different Japanese art movements such as Ukiyo-e and Rinpa School. We will also introduce the seasonal topics that help you to capture some stunning Japanese scenes. Suitable for all levels. |
WATERCOLOUR PAINTING WORKSHOP Learn the basics of watercolour painting with us, we will bring along a selection of references of various topics for you to learn from, depending on which reference you choose, our teacher will teach you the appropriate techniques. The idea of our watercolour workshop is for you to keep attending and keep learning, watercolour painting isn't easy, especially at first. If you keep coming and challenge yourself, our workshops will help you to improve. Suitable for all levels. |
BOTANICAL PAINTING WORKSHOP During our botanical painting sessions, we bring along both a selection of botanical references and a selection of plants and flowers. We teach you the techniques of still life painting and how to explore the colours and shapes of a natural canvas. This workshop can be with acrylics or watercolour. Suitable for all levels. |
ACRYLIC PAINTING WORKSHOP Like with our watercolours sessions, the objective of our acrylic classes are to teach you how to use the materials. We will bring along a wide selection of references for you to try, the More you try, the more you will improve. If you would like to achieve something specific then please speak to our teacher and she will outline how you can reach your goal. Suitable for all levels. |
SUMI-E
PAINTING WORKSHOP SUMI-E PAINTING WORKSHOP Release your inner self during our sumi-e ink painting workshop! Using bamboo brushes and Sumi ink we will teach you how to use expressional brush strokes to suit various painting topics such as botanicals, animals and landscapes. This workshop is split up into 3 or 4 different sections each starting with a teacher demonstration followed by you making your own efforts. The first is usually easier allowing you to warm up and prepare for the 'Big boss' Suitable for all levels. Suitable for all levels. |
